Click The Bell is a notification app: you pick YouTube channels and get notified when they publish new videos or Shorts. No account is required, and we never ask for your name, email or a login.

What data do we process, and why?

The information below does not contain your name or anything else that directly identifies you, but it is linked to your device. It is therefore personal data (pseudonymous), and we process it under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

• Push token and your channels. The push token is a random identifier that Apple or Google gives the app for notifications. We store it with the IDs of the channels you follow and your per-channel choices (format, delivery and members videos). Purpose: sending you the notifications. Legal basis: it is necessary to provide the service you ask for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Settings. Quiet hours and the time of the daily digest (time window and time zone), videos waiting for your daily digest (at most 3 days), and the time of your latest test notification. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b).
• Support and app version. From version 1.6 we store with your push token a short support code (derived from the purchaser ID), the app's version and platform (iOS or Android) and the time of the latest sync. Purpose: finding your device when you contact us, and fixing faults in particular versions. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in being able to help you and fix faults (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Purchases. Extra slots and the Members videos subscription are bought in the App Store or on Google Play. The app creates a random purchaser ID that our purchase provider RevenueCat uses to recognise your purchases. We store the purchaser ID, the number of slots bought and the subscription's status (active or expired, expiry date, trial) with your push token. If you use the same Apple ID or Google account on several devices, we store which purchaser IDs belong together so your purchases work on all of them. We never receive payment details. RevenueCat tells us when the subscription renews, is cancelled or expires. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b).
• Members notifications. When you have been notified about a video for channel members, we note it with the video so you are not notified again when it goes public. The note is deleted after 30 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b).
• Searches. What you search for is sent to our server and to the YouTube Data API to find channels. The result is kept for up to 24 hours so the same search does not have to be looked up again. It is not stored with your device. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b).
• Server logs. Google Cloud logs technical information about each request to the server, including the IP address and the request address (for a search, also the search text). Logs are used for operation, security and troubleshooting and are deleted automatically after 30 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure and stable service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Public YouTube data. Channel names, pictures and @handles and the IDs of new videos are retrieved from YouTube API Services and used for the notifications. We refresh or delete them within 30 days.

We do not use your data for tracking, profiling or advertising, and we do not sell it. Your notification history is stored only on your device.

Data on your device

The app stores in its own storage area on your device: the list of channels you follow and your per-channel choices, your notification history (the latest 50; from version 1.6 entries are deleted after 30 days), your settings, channel pictures and video thumbnails, your push token and the purchaser ID. All of it is removed when you delete the app, with one exception: on iPhone and iPad the purchaser ID is kept in the device's keychain and stays on the device, so your purchases can be recognised if you reinstall the app. On Android the app's data can be included in your own backup to your Google account if you have backup turned on. The app does not place, access or recognise cookies or similar technology on your device or in your browser, and it does not allow third parties to do so. Our web pages (this policy, the terms and the support page) set no cookies.

Providers and transfers

Click The Bell uses YouTube API Services. By using the app you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. These providers process data on our behalf: Google Cloud (server and database in the EU, Belgium, and logs), the Apple Push Notification service (notifications on iPhone and iPad), Firebase Cloud Messaging by Google (notifications on Android) and RevenueCat (purchase validation). Apple, Google and RevenueCat may process data in the United States. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and/or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Channel pictures and video thumbnails are loaded directly from YouTube's servers when the app or the widget shows them. YouTube (Google) therefore sees your IP address, just as when you use YouTube; this is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Google account and access

Click The Bell never asks you to sign in with Google and has no access to your Google or YouTube account. The app only retrieves public channel and video information from YouTube API Services using an API key, and it neither accesses nor stores data from users' Google accounts ("Authorized Data"). There is therefore no access to revoke on Google's security settings page at myaccount.google.com/connections. How to delete the data the app has stored is described in the next section.

Deletion and retention

• Remove a channel in the app and that channel and your choices for it are deleted from the server immediately.
• Remove all your channels and everything the server has stored about your device is deleted automatically after 7 days.
• Delete the app and we delete the push token and everything linked to it when Apple or Google reports it invalid. That usually happens at the next notification.
• From version 1.6 you can delete all your server data immediately under Settings → Delete my data. At the same time we delete your purchaser ID and its purchase history at RevenueCat; if you use the same Apple ID or Google account on another device with the app, we wait until none of them uses the app, so that your purchases keep working there. The purchases themselves stay with Apple or Google and come back with Restore purchases. You can also email caulnian@gmail.com; we then delete within 7 days. As the app has no accounts, we can only find your data through your device, so please include the support code the app shows under Settings (from version 1.6).
• Videos we have seen (to avoid duplicate notifications) are deleted after 30 days, search results after 24 hours, server logs after 30 days, and the record of which purchaser IDs belong together 30 days after no device uses them any more.
• Your purchases are recorded by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat under their own rules.

Your rights

You have the right to access the information we process about you and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and you have the right to data portability. Email caulnian@gmail.com; we answer within one month. You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, www.datatilsynet.dk, or to the authority in your own country.

Children

Click The Bell is for everyone who uses YouTube and is not directed at any particular age group. The app requires no account and collects no information such as name, email, age or location. Use of YouTube follows YouTube's own age rules. The Members videos subscription requires a channel membership on YouTube, which YouTube only offers to people aged 18 or over.

Hvilke data behandler vi, og hvorfor?

Oplysningerne herunder indeholder ikke dit navn eller andet, der direkte identificerer dig, men de er knyttet til din enhed. De er derfor personoplysninger (pseudonyme), og vi behandler dem efter databeskyttelsesforordningen (GDPR).

• Push-token og dine kanaler. Push-tokenet er et tilfældigt id, som Apple eller Google giver appen til notifikationer. Vi gemmer det sammen med ID'erne på de kanaler, du følger, og dine valg pr. kanal (format, levering og medlemsvideoer). Formål: at sende dig notifikationerne. Retsgrundlag: det er nødvendigt for at levere den tjeneste, du beder om (GDPR art. 6, stk. 1, litra b).
• Indstillinger. Stille timer og tidspunktet for Dagens oversigt (tidsrum og tidszone), videoer der venter på din daglige oversigt (højst 3 dage) og tidspunktet for din seneste testnotifikation. Retsgrundlag: litra b.
• Support og appversion. Fra version 1.6 gemmer vi ved dit push-token en kort supportkode (afledt af køber-id'et), appens version og platform (iOS eller Android) og tidspunktet for den seneste synkronisering. Formål: at finde din enhed, når du skriver til os, og at rette fejl i bestemte versioner. Retsgrundlag: vores legitime interesse i at kunne hjælpe dig og rette fejl (litra f).
• Køb. Ekstra pladser og abonnementet Medlemsvideoer købes i App Store eller Google Play. Appen opretter et tilfældigt køber-id, som vores købsudbyder RevenueCat bruger til at genkende dine køb. Vi gemmer køber-id'et, antallet af købte pladser og abonnementets status (aktivt eller udløbet, udløbsdato, prøveperiode) ved dit push-token. Bruger du samme Apple-id eller Google-konto på flere enheder, gemmer vi, hvilke køber-id'er der hører sammen, så dine køb virker på dem alle. Vi får aldrig betalingsoplysninger. RevenueCat giver os besked, når abonnementet fornyes, opsiges eller udløber. Retsgrundlag: litra b.
• Medlemsnotifikationer. Når du har fået en notifikation om en video for kanalmedlemmer, noterer vi det ved videoen, så du ikke får den igen, når den bliver offentlig. Notatet slettes efter 30 dage. Retsgrundlag: litra b.
• Søgninger. Det, du søger efter, sendes til vores server og til YouTube Data API for at finde kanaler. Resultatet gemmes i op til 24 timer, så den samme søgning ikke skal slås op igen. Det gemmes ikke sammen med din enhed. Retsgrundlag: litra b.
• Serverlogs. Google Cloud logger teknisk information om hver forespørgsel til serveren, herunder IP-adresse og forespørgslens adresse (ved en søgning også søgeteksten). Logs bruges til drift, sikkerhed og fejlfinding og slettes automatisk efter 30 dage. Retsgrundlag: vores legitime interesse i en sikker og stabil tjeneste (litra f).
• Offentlige YouTube-data. Kanalernes navne, billeder og @handles samt ID'erne på nye videoer hentes fra YouTube API Services og bruges til notifikationerne. Vi opfrisker eller sletter dem inden for 30 dage.

Vi bruger ikke dine data til sporing, profilering eller reklamer, og vi sælger dem ikke. Din notifikationshistorik gemmes kun på din enhed.

Data på din enhed

Appen gemmer i sit eget lagerområde på din enhed: listen over de kanaler, du følger, og dine valg pr. kanal, din notifikationshistorik (de seneste 50; fra version 1.6 slettes indslag efter 30 dage), dine indstillinger, kanalbilleder og video-thumbnails, dit push-token og køber-id'et. Det slettes, når du sletter appen, med én undtagelse: på iPhone og iPad ligger køber-id'et i enhedens nøglering og bliver på enheden, så dine køb kan genkendes, hvis du installerer appen igen. På Android kan appens data indgå i din egen sikkerhedskopi på din Google-konto, hvis du har slået sikkerhedskopiering til. Appen placerer, læser eller genkender ikke cookies eller lignende teknologi på din enhed eller i din browser, og den giver ikke tredjeparter adgang til at gøre det. Vores websider (denne politik, vilkårene og supportsiden) sætter ingen cookies.

Leverandører og overførsler

Click The Bell bruger YouTube API Services. Ved at bruge appen accepterer du YouTubes servicevilkår, og Googles behandling af data er beskrevet i Googles privatlivspolitik. Disse leverandører behandler data på vores vegne: Google Cloud (server og database i EU, Belgien, samt logs), Apple Push Notification service (notifikationer på iPhone og iPad), Firebase Cloud Messaging fra Google (notifikationer på Android) og RevenueCat (validering af køb). Apple, Google og RevenueCat kan behandle data i USA. Overførslen sker på grundlag af EU-Kommissionens standardkontraktbestemmelser og/eller EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Kanalbilleder og video-thumbnails hentes direkte fra YouTubes servere, når appen eller widgetten viser dem. YouTube (Google) ser derved din IP-adresse, ligesom når du bruger YouTube; det sker efter Googles privatlivspolitik.

Google-konto og adgang

Click The Bell beder dig aldrig om at logge ind med Google og har ingen adgang til din Google- eller YouTube-konto. Appen henter kun offentlige kanal- og videooplysninger fra YouTube API Services med en API-nøgle og hverken tilgår eller gemmer data fra brugeres Google-konti ("Authorized Data"). Der er derfor ingen adgang at tilbagekalde på Googles sikkerhedsside myaccount.google.com/connections. Sådan sletter du de data, appen har gemt, se næste afsnit.

Sletning og opbevaring

• Fjerner du en kanal i appen, slettes kanalen og dine valg for den fra serveren med det samme.
• Fjerner du alle dine kanaler, slettes alt, hvad serveren har gemt om din enhed, automatisk efter 7 dage.
• Sletter du appen, sletter vi push-tokenet og alt knyttet til det, når Apple eller Google melder det ugyldigt. Det sker typisk ved den næste notifikation.
• Fra version 1.6 kan du slette alle dine serverdata med det samme under Indstillinger → Slet mine data. Samtidig sletter vi dit køber-id og dets købshistorik hos RevenueCat; bruger du samme Apple-id eller Google-konto på en anden enhed med appen, venter vi med det, til ingen af dem bruger appen, så dine køb fortsat virker dér. Selve købene ligger hos Apple eller Google og kan hentes igen med Gendan køb. Du kan også skrive til caulnian@gmail.com; så sletter vi inden for 7 dage. Da appen ikke har konti, kan vi kun finde dine data via din enhed, så skriv gerne den supportkode, appen viser under Indstillinger (fra version 1.6).
• Videoer, vi har set (for at undgå dobbelte notifikationer), slettes efter 30 dage, søgeresultater efter 24 timer, serverlogs efter 30 dage, og oplysningen om sammenhørende køber-id'er 30 dage efter, at ingen enhed bruger dem længere.
• Dine køb er registreret hos Apple eller Google og hos RevenueCat efter deres egne regler.

Du har ret til indsigt i de oplysninger, vi behandler om dig, og til at få dem rettet, slettet eller begrænset. Børn

Click The Bell er til alle, der bruger YouTube, og er ikke rettet mod en bestemt aldersgruppe. Appen kræver ingen konto og indsamler ikke oplysninger som navn, e-mail, alder eller placering. Brugen af YouTube følger YouTubes egne aldersregler. Abonnementet Medlemsvideoer forudsætter et kanalmedlemskab på YouTube, som YouTube kun tilbyder personer på mindst 18 år.
